Yellowstone in Spring – A MUST for your bucket list

As much as I enjoy winter and love the great snowmobiling opportunities around West Yellowstone, this is my favorite weekend of the year – the opening of Yellowstone National Park for the Summer Season.

Every visit is like the first!

The most amazing thing about Yellowstone National Park is that no matter how many times you visit, every trip is like the first time.

I am fortunate that as I live just ¼ mile from the West Entrance in West Yellowstone, and work as a part time guide for SeeYellowstone, I have been into Yellowstone more times than I could possibly remember.

But every visit is a new adventure – a new experience or wildlife sighting that I hadn’t experience before.

Welcome Back!

Yellowstone National Park reopened to the public last Friday and so at the weekend I took a leisurely drive from West Yellowstone into Old Faithful.

The Road Less Traveled

Took the Road less traveled on Friday, February 25. The last 2 weeks have brought quite a bit of snow to the Yellowstone area, which made Friday a fantastic ride. WOW. In the end, we drove 161 miles.

Snowmobile Heaven

For the past twelve years, SnoWest Magazine has awarded West Yellowstone with a top position in the Top 15 Trails in the West. The Chicago Tribune has also rated West Yellowstone as the #1 Snowmobile Heaven location in the U.S. And, for good reason!
Situated high in the mountains, at an elevation of 6,667 feet, West Yellowstone has earned the reputation as one of the best of the best snowmobiling locations in North America. Here, the season starts early and ends late, averaging 143” of dry, powdery snow each year. So, whether you prefer steady, mellow cruising with few elevation changes, or you’re craving the powdery steeps, West Yellowstone is a snowmobiler’s heaven.

Don’t let this opportunity ‘FALL’ through the cracks!

Fall, (or Autumn as it is called in my homeland) is many people’s favorite time of the year to visit Yellowstone National Park – and it’s easy to understand why.

Stop and smell the roses..

… well, maybe not roses but definitely the lodge pole pines and clean mountain air of Yellowstone National Park.

Most people who stay with us at Three Bear Lodge do so because they are coming to visit Yellowstone National Park. But probably 99% of our guests only get to see 1% of what the Park has to offer.
